faultbet Inplay Engine

Our proprietary inplay engine monitors live Betfair tennis markets during match play, combining our pre-match model with real-time price movements to identify moments when the market has overreacted. When a price dislocation is detected that our models flag as value, a signal fires instantly to Telegram subscribers.

3 Active Strategies

Each strategy targets a different type of live market inefficiency:

  1. faultbet Snap — Identifies moments where a player's live price has moved significantly beyond what our pre-match model and serve projections suggest is fair. The market overcorrects to short-term score changes — faultbet Snap captures the reversion.
  2. faultbet Pressure — Targets matches where the leading player's historical pressure profile suggests they are likely to give back their advantage. Combines multiple proprietary pressure metrics with live price data to find value on the trailing player.

How It Works

The engine reads live Betfair data every 60 seconds during match play. It compares the current live price against our pre-match valuation to calculate the exact price dislocation. When the dislocation exceeds our strategy thresholds AND the player's underlying data supports a reversal, a signal fires. Each match is limited to 2 signals to prevent over-trading.

Staking

Staking sizes each signal proportionally to the detected edge, adjusted for confidence and the inherent volatility of live trading. Inplay stakes are automatically scaled down versus pre-match. Range: 0.15% to 2.5% of bankroll.

Paper Trading

All results shown are from paper trading. Prices are recorded from live Betfair markets at signal time and settled against official match results. Results do not account for Betfair commission (2-5%), price drift, or liquidity constraints. Past performance does not guarantee future results. 18+ BeGambleAware.org.

faultbet Staking

Proportional Staking

Each signal receives a stake proportional to the detected edge, adjusted for signal confidence and data quality. Higher conviction signals with cleaner underlying data receive larger allocations.

Inplay signals are automatically scaled down to account for the higher variance in live trading. Stakes range from 0.15% to 2.5% of bankroll.

Risk Management

The system caps maximum exposure per signal and per match. Low-confidence signals and signals based on limited player data receive minimum stakes regardless of the detected edge.

This prevents large losses on signals where the model is less certain, while still allowing meaningful positions on high-conviction opportunities.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these real betting results?
These are paper trading results only. No real money bets are placed by fault.bet. All Betfair prices are recorded from live markets at the exact moment each inplay signal fires. Outcomes are settled based on official match results. Paper trading does not account for Betfair commission, price movement between signal and execution, or market liquidity constraints.
How do inplay signals differ from pre-match signals?
Pre-match signals fire once each morning based on the model's assessment of the full match outcome. Inplay signals fire during live matches when specific score states create mispriced markets. They target situations like a high-choke player serving for the set, a tiebreak specialist entering a tiebreak, or a fresher player trailing in set 3. Inplay signals are more tactical and time-sensitive, while pre-match signals are strategic.
What strategies does the inplay engine use?
2 active strategies: faultbet Snap (captures market overcorrections when live prices diverge from model fair value) and faultbet Pressure (backs trailing players against opponents with weak pressure profiles at inflated prices).
How often do inplay signals fire?
The engine scans every 60 seconds during live matches. On a typical ATP/WTA match day with 15-20 live matches, you might see 2-8 inplay signals depending on how many trigger conditions are met. Each match is capped at 3 signals maximum to prevent over-trading. Signals are delivered instantly to the premium Telegram channel.
Can I act on inplay signals fast enough?
Inplay signals fire at specific score states (e.g. 5-3 in games, tiebreak start) which persist for several minutes while games are played. This gives subscribers time to open Betfair and place the trade. Prices may move slightly between signal and execution, but the edge is typically large enough to absorb minor drift. The key is having Betfair open and ready during match play.
